Kapoor to design iconic visitor attraction for Olympic Park |
The
Mayor of London Boris Johnson and Lakshmi Mittal, Chairman and CEO
of ArcelorMittal, today unveiled the artist and design chosen to create
a new visitor attraction in the Olympic Park. Award winning London-based
artist Anish Kapoor has been given the commission to design the new
public attraction. ArcelorMittal will fund up to 16million of the
19.1million project with the outstanding 3.1 million provided by the
London Development Agency.

Over
22,000 people flocked to Lords to watch the inaugural champions
of the Indian Premier League, the Rajasthan Royals go head to head
against the reigning Twenty20 Cup Champions, the Middlesex Panthers.
The match saw Rajasthan Royals storm to victory by 42 runs, scoring
an impressive 162 with a loss of only 5 wickets in their twenty overs.

cricket included in the 2012 Olympic Games. London Assembly Member
Murad Qureshi, launched an online petition six months ago which aims
to lobby the International Olympic Committee, International Cricket
Conference and London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games to
include an international 20-over cricket competition as part of the
2012 Olympic Games.

Indo-british team called 'Agni' has triumphed at the world's first
zero-carbon eGrandPrix (TTXGP), held on June 12, 2009 as part of the
traditional TT race programme. Agni is a motor manufacturer with a
factory based in Gujarat, who provided motors to half the competitors
on the day as well as romping home with the accolade of winning the
worlds first clean emission zero carbon Grand Prix.

Cricketer
Samit Patel, who is currently representing England in the West Indies,
won the coveted Sports Personality of the year award at the British
Asian Sports Awards on Saturday 21st February. Tennis player Vijay
Amritraj was recognised with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Other winners
on the night includedManisha Chowdhary, aged 16 from Pinner in Middlesex
for Junior Sports Personality of the Year.

squad after helping maul South Africa in a one-day match last week,
wants to try out his lauded strokeplay against India. Patel, a 23-year-old

with nearly nine overs to spare by scoring an unbeaten 60 while turning
out for the England Lions.
